Project Hope

Imagine that you are eleven years old and are born with a physical deformity. You have no family and live in a country with very limited medical facilities and personnel. Imagine you are confined to an orphanage in a remote village in Russia with little or no contact with the outside world. As you grow and mature, the stark reality of your hopeless situation becomes more evident. Without help, you will always be dependent upon others for your essential daily needs and activities, with little or no hope of ever supporting yourself or a family.

These two beautiful children are coming to the US in June 2009 for surgery.

But what if there were ... HOPE?

Without parents, and without medical care, their future is bleak.  Meeting medical needs opens the door to meeting spiritual needs;  this is our ultimate hope, and can only come from the Lord Himself!  Over the last few years the ministry has had the privilege of helping several children receive life-changing medical treatment. Project Hope began with helping children with correctable orthopedic problems through prosthetics, soft tissue surgery and then more complex orthopedic surgery with prosthesis. The ministry is blessed by affiliations with Scottish Rite and Shriner's Hospitals as well as with other non-profit organizations and medical personnel donating their time to help these children.  Due to the success of the initial program, Alexandra has developed relationships with several orphanages that call her for help with those children considered "the weakest of the weak." As other medical needs have presented, she has helped children regardless of their special needs whether it be life-threatening breathing issues, dwarfism or complex facial surgery.

It is an understatement to say these little ones have a few challenges ahead of them but often it is truly a matter of life and death. Alexandra's philosophy is that she desperately wants to give these children a chance to live, be loved and enjoy the life that they deserve. Will you prayerfully consider helping one of these children by hosting them or donating funds to help with travel expenses? The cost associated with each child is at least $2,500 per child, but your tax-deductible gift of any amount is helpful and greatly appreciated. IGAO needs host families for each child while they are in the United States receiving medical attention.
