Alexandra
Good, a former orphan of Russian heritage, is President
and principal founder of IGAO. She is bilingual in Russian,
is an expereienced business executive, has been married
for 51 years to George Goode - they have 3 married grown
children with a total of 18 grandchildren.
Alexandra knows firsthand what orphans go through. She
was born in Yugoslavia to Russian parents, and later
became an orphan at age 14 when she was forced by the
Germans to live in a concentration/labor camp in Germany
after she lost her family during World War II. She was
never adopted. After immigrating to the USA in 1949,
she made several mission trips to Russia in the late
1990s and learned about the Russian orphans' living
conditions and needs. Since then she has dedicated herself
to saving these children. "Every child is a gift
from the Creator and deserving of a full life and loving
family, regardless of the circumstances which brought
the child into the world.
George is an engineer and entrepreneur by profession and
is Chairman of the IGAO governing board. He currently serves
on the board of another non-profit Christian youth organization.

STATEMENT
OF FAITH |
|
| |
|
As
a Christian ministry, we believe that our directions should
come from the Bible which is uniquely God-inspired, without
error in its teachings, unfading and the final authority on
all matters on which it bears. The Bible teaches that there
is just one God, Lord of the universe, eternally existing
in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each possessing
all the attributes of Deity.
We
believe that God created humans to have fellowship with Him,
but all have defied God by sinfully going their own way. AS
a consequence, we need God's saving grace to end our separation
form God and to fill the void within us. Salvation comes only
through God's saving grace - can never be earned - and must
be received personally by repenting of our sins and trusting
in Jesus Christ.
We
believe that Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity, lived
a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by
dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplishes salvation
for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone, leaning
entirely on Him. We believe that He rose form the dead, sits
at the right hand of God and is the only intermediary between
us and God
and that He will return to earth to consummate
history.
We
believe that the Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and through
regeneration equips believers for personal growth and service
to the church and to other Christian ministries. The role
of the latter is to glorify God and to reach out and serve
those who are lost and in need, including the children of
the world without families. At the end, everyone will experience
bodily resurrection and the judgement
and those forgiven
through Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God. |
